Mwanamke na Uongozi - Celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child
On 11th October is the day the world celebrating, the girl child day. Standard Development Goals says no to gender inequality as pivotal pillar; The non Profit organisation, Mwanamke na Uongozi ( Women in Leadership) is built upon.
Led by the resilient Ms Shamira Mshangama, the organisation chose to celebrate the day at Turiani Secondary School Magomeni, Dar es salaam. The students were vigilant in public speech under the theme ” Thamani ya Binti na Uongozi wa Maadili” which translates into ” the Worth of a Girl and Leadership Ethics”. The event was colorful, vibrant and educative.

The Executive Director of Women teacher's Organisation in Tanzania Hon. Neema Kabale. She was speaking to young girls in Turiani secondary school. She insisted in hard working in studies so as they will become good leaders.
Dr. Kategugwa Gidion from Lugalo Hospital, Gave health and maternity education to young girls, so that, they should avoid early pregnant which might destroy their dreams. He insisted to young girls, to learn to say NO.
Mrs. Hilda Ngai, holding two Masters in Human Resource and another in Corporate Management. 35 years of working experience and hired in higher ranking position in ATC, NBC Bank . etc.
As a mentor, she spoke on how young girls can manage to reach to their goals
A special guest, JOKATE MWEGELO a Tanzanian actress and entrepreneur and Politician. She is also a host and a singer She is also CEO of Kidoti Company. In 2011 she won Zanzibar International Film Festival award for best actress. In 2017, Mwegelo was included in Forbes 30 Under 30 in Africa. When started speaking she mentioned the Tanzanian prominent and successful women leaders who can be their role models to achieve their leadership dreams

There was a Debate competition among girls students, the aim of the Debate was to increase their level of confidence, communication and listening skills as well as reasoning capacity. and all participants got certificate of appreciation and winner got other gifts.
